What is it?

Causes:
- unknown
- specific gene is unknown

- more common in boys than girls
- related to autism

Symptoms:
- focused on ONE object or topic and will exclude or ignore all other things
- will not notice when second person loose interest in conversation
- obsessions are narrow
- usually withdrawal from social interaction because of speech or language problems
- irregular body language
- monotone
- may not respond to other people's comments or emotions
- may not understand sarcasm or humor, or they may take a figure of speech literally
- have problems with eye contact, facial expressions, body postures, or gestures
Signs:
- avoid eye contact
- aloofness
- doesn't turn when called
- failure to use gestures to point or show
- lack of interactivity to play
- lack of interest in peers
- THE CONDITION SHOULD BE OBVIOUS BY THE AGE OF 3.
How to test/diagnose:
- physical test
- emotional test
- mental test
Treatments:
like for any condition the earlier the detection the better, so parents be concerned if child presents any of the signs and symptoms above.
- cognitive therapy/ talk therapy
- parent training ( the more informed you are, the more help you will be able to offer your child)
- social skill training
- speech and language therapy
