What is it?

  1. a high functioning autism
  2. repeated behavior 
  3. clumsiness
  4. delayed motor skills
  5. difficulties with social interaction
Causes:
  1. unknown
  2. specific gene is unknown
  3. its genetic
  4. more common in boys than girls
  5. related to autism
  6. genetic
Symptoms:
  1. focused on ONE object or topic and will exclude or ignore all other things
  2. will not notice when second person loose interest in conversation
  3. obsessions are narrow
  4. usually withdrawal from social interaction because of speech or language problems
  5. irregular body language
  6. monotone
  7. may not respond to other people's comments or emotions
  8. may not understand sarcasm or humor, or they may take a figure of speech literally
  9. have problems with eye contact, facial expressions, body postures, or gestures
Signs:

  1. avoid eye contact
  2. aloofness
  3. doesn't turn when called
  4. failure to use gestures to point or show
  5. lack of interactivity to play 
  6. lack of interest in peers
  7. THE CONDITION SHOULD BE OBVIOUS BY THE AGE OF 3.
How to test/diagnose: 
  1. physical test 
  2. emotional test
  3. mental test
all of the above should be done to diagnose child, for the test above you may need to see a psychologist, neurologist, psychiatrist, and a speech therapist.

Treatments:
like for any condition the earlier the detection the better, so parents be concerned if child presents any of the signs and symptoms above.
  1. cognitive therapy/ talk therapy
  2. parent training ( the more informed you are, the more help you will be able to offer your child)
  3. social skill training
  4. speech and language therapy

Introduction

As individuals of this world, we are created different but equal. Whether it is our difference in skin color, ethnicity or talents we may poses. Aspergers is one of the many conditions that makes an individual stand out. I hope that through this blog I can reach out to those parents who frustrate to help their child face asperger. Its not the end of the world to have a child with this condition.With today's advancement in medicine and the many books written, we can face each day with a hope that our child will excel in a world filled with difficulties.
